AVID

AVID is a program that prepares struggling students for college and provides extended mentorship for students. I have recently started an independent study where I am taking photos for different aspects of the district and their website. I have noticed that generally people have one of two reactions to the unexpected presence of a camera. They either A: Hide or cover their face, or B: Pose "candid" shots which are almost always obviously staged. However, shooting AVID felt very natural and made it very easy for me to dissolve into the environment.
