Intersession Dailies

Community service, pierogies, muddy mulch, fire dancing, solstice celebration and people fleeing sobriety checkpoints.

Laianna Williams, 14, lifts Onna Hickem, 7, during the preparation of the Feed the Community event at Fifth Street Christian Church on Saturday. The church coordinates the event with other churches including Broadway Christian Church and Rock Bridge Christian Church.

Iwona Galijska peers out the front of Cafe Poland on Monday. The restaurant is set to open later this week.

Dan Cullimore collects mulch for the Circus-Lyons Community Garden on Thursday at Capen Park. The garden is maintained by gardeners from the neighborhood and across the city.

People dance around a bonfire site at the Unitarian Universalist Winter Solstice Celebration. The annual celebration welcomes back the sun.

A suspect is apprehended after fleeing a sobriety checkpoint in Centralia, Mo. The man lost his shoes in the chase.

Oh the weather outside...

Missouri never ceases to amaze me with its constantly changing weather. Snow, rain, fog and ice features of late.

Minnesnowta

Goodbye football, hello basketball

Football season is over but now it's time for basketball. I'll be shooting for the Columbia Missourian over the winter intersession. It's been almost a year since I shot daily assignments for the Missourian and it's good to be back.

End of Mizzou Football Season

It's been a blast shooting Mizzou football for the past two years for the Columbia Missourian and the Jefferson City News Tribune.
