High School Football Portraits, At Home

About a month ago I was assigned to shoot two portraits for our High School Football Preview. Both were out in central Nebraska, one at sunrise and one at sunset. I had some time to kill in between so I visited the 4-H state championship in Grand Island and the Boone County fair in Albion. It's always a treat getting to explore these little towns and get to meet some really great people.

I met each player at their respective football stadium but I liked the photos from their neighborhoods more. Wyatt, above, lives on a beautiful farm in the rolling hills. His mom came outside for the shoot and even helped me hold a reflector! After we were done she invited me inside and I got to meet all of their sweet pets.

Wyatt's mother requested he finish his chores before coming inside. Above he feeds his horse Doc. In between assignments I headed to the 4-H State Championship Horse Show in Grand Island.

This portrait was with Grand Island Quarterback Pierce Almond. We took a few at the stadium and then headed to the North Loup river near his home in St. Paul, Neb. for the photo that ran.
